ith a short distance from Oslo and a central location in Eastern Norway, Laagen is the perfect place for meetings, conferences and workshops. Beautiful views, subdued acoustics and good lighting conditions form a good backdrop for productive conversations. The stay can of course be combined with accommodation, activities and food.
The first thing that strikes you when you arrive at the workshop hub in Laagen is the view of the river. 180-degree panoramic windows from floor to ceiling let nature into the meeting room and create an atmosphere that is difficult not to be calmed and inspired by.
Laagen is equipped with state-of-the-art video conferencing facilities. With an 82-inch TV, microphone and speaker solutions and high-speed internet, most needs are met to be able to conduct meetings with external participants. The large windows are also perfect for both post-it notes or scribbling directly on the glass surfaces. Laagen hub is suitable for up to 12 people.
Our partner Høyt & Lavt has for over 10 years tailored activities for everyone. With a focus on collaboration, the activities are adapted to your group. See Numedalslågen from a zipline trip or do collaborative tasks on the ground out in the woods. The nature in Lågendalen is a perfect starting point for the good nature experiences outdoors.

The treetop cabin offers electricity and several sources of heating, including floor heating, an oven - and a cozy fireplace with logs included for free. It also has a bathroom with toilet and a shower, a kitchen with induction cooking top, an electric kettle, a fridge and a dishwasher machine.
The beds are prepared upon arrival – and towels are provided by us. You’ll also find necessary goods, like toilet paper, hand soap and shampoo, dishwasher soap, kitchen towels, salt, pepper - and coffee. For more information about the Treetop Cabin, take a look here.
Outside the treetop cabin you’ll discover a gaslit fireplace. It has enough propane to stay alit for a couple of hours. The spacious balcony gives you a nice view towards the forest and the river. Under the cabin, you’ll find more logs for the fireplace - and a sheltered sitting area.
The containers offer electricity and several sources of heating, including a wall-mount heating pump, heated floors and an oven. The containers also contain a bathroom with toilet and a rainfall shower, a kitchen with induction cooking top, an electric kettle, a fridge and a dishwasher machine. The beds are prepared upon arrival – and towels are provided by us. You’ll also find necessary goods, like toilet paper, hand soap and shampoo, dishwasher soap, kitchen towels, salt, pepper - and coffee. Outside the glass container, you’ll discover a spacious balcony with panoramic glass railing. Also, every container has its own hammock net, giving you a great opportunity to relax and look into the tree tops. Every container also sports its own gaslit fireplace with enough propane to stay alit for a few hours.
Every unit sleeps up to four people. The treetop cabin provides one double bed and an extra one double mattress in an alcove. The glass containers are equipped with a double bed plus an extra daybed.
The daybed provides two single mattresses. However, in order to be really comfortable, the glass containers are mainly recommended for 2 people in a double bed.
Absolutely. Both the Treetop Cabin and the Glass Containers have their own kitchen space. The kitchens provide utensils, cups and plates – along with a fridge, an induction cooking top, a dishwasher and a kettle boiler. Please note that there is no oven in the kitchen.
Yes, there is. Close to the treetop cabin you’ll find a nice barbecue area. You’ll find two BBQ pans ready to cook your favorite food. Feel free to use the area - just remember to bring coal and matches. Please be careful when cooking – and remember to extinguish the flames properly before leaving. There’s a water hose in the BBQ area.
You don’t really need a lot of things. Our units have all you need in terms of sheets, towels and soaps. In case you want to cook, bring the groceries you like – and besides that you’ll just need to make sure that you stay comfortable both indoors and outdoors regardless of activity. If you’d like to explore the surrounding areas, we recommend bringing a small headlight, a small hiking backpack, a water botte - and maybe something to sit on.
The Laagen Hub has got high speed WIFI for video conferencing and doing proper work. However, in the other units, there is no WIFI. While 4G reception is quite good in the whole are, we’d like to humbly recommend tucking the phone away as much as possible in order to maximize the experience while staying at Laagen :)

The spacious outdoor terrace gives you a nice view towards the forest. The Laagen river is just a few steps away, too – you might want to go and enjoy the view.
You are free to cancel the stay. A cancellation less than 4 weeks before arrival will result in a 50% charge. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before arrival, 100% of the reservation will be charged. Unfortunately, we do not deliver food as part of our service to private guests. There are several well-stocked grocery stores close by in Svarstad. For companies and bigger groups, we deliver food in collaboration with local restaurants upon request. Please contact us, and we'll sort out a proper menu for your workshop or conference.
You’ll find several grocery stores in Svarstad, around 8 km north of Laagen. Two of them are named Spar and Rema 1000. South of Laagen you can find Steinsholt Marked around 5 km away.
Yes, there is. Close to the treetop cabin you’ll find a nice barbecue area. You’ll find two BBQ pans ready to cook your favorite food. Checkout time at the treetop cabin and the glass containers is at 11AM – and 12PM for the Forest Cabins. No cleaning needed, as it is already incluced in the price. The only thing we ask is for you to put the keys back into the lock box. That’s it :)
Unfortunately, no. We frequently receive guests that are allergic to pets, and because we want to be a destination for everyone we unfortunately do not allow for pets @ Laagen.
Yes. The minimum age is 20 in order to stay alone at the treetop cabin or the glass containers.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the units.
Smoking is only allowed in designated areas around the climbing park.
At Laagen, you may self check-in upon arrival. Check-in time for the Treetop Cabin and the Glass Containers is 3PM. Check-in time for the Forest Cabins is 4PM. 2 days before your stay, you’ll receive an email containing all the information you need regarding keys and access - including directions. Close to the parking lot you’ll find luggage trolleys that you may use for the last couple of hundred meters.

Good choice! The Laagen river is one of the best fishing rivers in all of Norway. Please keep in mind that fishing at Laagen is regulated, so in order to go fishing, you’ll need to obtain a license. For more information, please visit this website.

In case you're traveling by plane to Torp Airport, we recommend getting a rental car – or grabbing a cab at the airport.
If you're arriving by plane at Oslo Airport, we either recommend a rental car or taking a train from Oslo Airport to Larvik. Find the right train departures here.
The directions can be found here. Look for a sign toward “Høyt & Lavt” when approaching. You’ll find the sign north of Steinsholt and south of Svarstad on the RV40 road. After having made the turn onto the gravel road, follow the road straight ahead until you reach a spacious parking lot. From there, you may use luggage trolleys for the last couple of hundred metres.
